The DVC Women's Basketball team (31-1) defeated San Joaquin Delta College tonight, 67-59 for the 3rd time this year.
The Vikings win was a total team effort, despite a low scoring game compared to the 88 points per game the Vikes have been averaging, they still finished with 4 out of their 5 starters scoring in double digits.
The Vikes were ahead 29-14 after the first quarter but the Mustangs battled back, holding DVC to 4 points in the 2nd Quarter and it was a 1-point game heading into halftime.
The second half was a battle and DVC grinded out the win, scoring 34 points in the 2nd half.
The Vikings were led by Zahria Hendrix and Leilani Moncrease who both finished with double-doubles, 17 points & 13 rebounds for Hendrix and 11 points & 11 rebounds for Moncrease.
Daisha Abdelkader finished with 16 points for the Vikings and Sierra Smith finished with 10 points.
The Vikings will play Moorpark (32-1), who they have been battling for the top spot in the state coaches poll all season.
