The DVC Women's Basketball team has had a special run this season, currently 27-1 and Big 8 Conference Champions for the second year in a row, a feat that is very hard to accomplish in such a tough and competitive conference.
This is their 3rdBig 8 Conference title in 5 years, making them one of the most competitive women's basketball teams in the CCCAA.
The Vikings have had 6 players averaging double digits scoring per game.
The Vikings are leading the state in points scored per game, with 88.3, 2nd in steals per game, 2nd in 3 pointers and 3rd in 3-pt percentage.
Daisha Abdelkader is currently 5thin the state in assists, Zahria Hendrix is currently 4th in the state in steals, and Jahnay Anderson leads the state in 3-pt's made and 6thin 3-pt percentage.
Anderson made 16 3-pointers tonight in the Vikes win over Modesto Junior College, setting both a CCCAA as well as a NCAA record for most three pointers made in a single season with 147.
The Vikings have been flip-flopping between the number 1 and the number 2 ranked team in the state all season long as well as the favorite in Northern California.
With conference play wrapping up tonight, brackets for the CCCAA State Playoffs will be released next week and the Vikings will be looking to continue their success into the post season.
