DVC Women's Soccer Opens 2017 Season with Shutout
Diablo Valley College (No. 5 in the Nation) took on Clovis Community College in their first game of the season. The Vikings netted their first shut-out of the season with a winning score of 4-0. Goal's today came in the 18th minute from Vanessa Ruvalcaba unassisted off of a kick from the left side netted to the far post. The next goal came in the 23rd minute from Ruvalcaba again from the development off a corner kick. In the second half Noelle Lemos scored her first goal of the game on a header with an assist from Haydaree from the left side. She scored again 2 minutes later with a shot to the left corner of the net and the assist went to Ruvalcaba, who finished the game with 2 goals and 1 assist. The Vikings travel to Ventura, Ca where they will be playing in the Nike Community College Showcase next weekend. The Vikings open the showcase with a game against Rio Hondo Friday and San Diego Mirmar on Saturday.
