Sierra College Wolverines (15-2), defeated the Vikes all three games to sweep the series for both teams Big 8 Conference opener.
Game 1: L, 5-3
The Vikes were down 3-0 in the top of the 5th, when Nick Simmons singled to right field, scoring Bill Ralston and Christian Villa.
The Vikes tied the game in the top of the 7th when Jonathon Waite doubled down the right field line, scoring Peretti.
The Wolverines scored 2 in the the 7th to win it, 5-3. Dante Peretti was 3-3, Nick Simmons went 1-4 and Jonathon Waite went 1-4 for the Vikes.
Game 2: L, 14-7
The Vikes started the game down 4-0 after the top of the 1st but answered in the bottom half of the 2nd inning with 4 runs of their own.
Sierra scored 2 in the 3rd, 2 in the 4th and 1 in the 5th to take an 8-4 lead.
The Vikings responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the 5th to make it 8-5.
Sierra scored 6 in the top of the 7th to make it 14-5 and the Vikes responded with 2 of their own to end the game, 14-7.
The Vikings were led at the plate by Christiaan Herkemij who was 2-4, and Kahlid Johnson who went 2-5.
Game 3: L, 10-4
The Wolverines shut out the Vikes, 8-0 until the top of the 7th when Christiaan Herkemij scored on a throwing error.
The Wolverines added 1 in the 7th to make it 9-1 until the Vikes scored 3 more to finish the game, 10-4.
The Vikes were led by Kahlid Johnson who was 2-5 at the plate and Brandon Kinsey, who was 2-4 at the plate.
