Football defeats Chabot, 35-24
DVC football team started the season on a roll coaster of a ride but last Friday 10/3 took a positive step forward as they defeated Chabot College 35-24 in an exciting home opener of Bay 6 Conference play.
Coach Austin Kiraly, his coaching staff and the Viking footballers are working hard to continue their competitive play on the road against upcoming opponents College of San Mateo (10/21, 1:00pm) and City College of San Francisco (10/28, 1:00pm).
When asked to reflect on the season, Coach Kiraly shared this, "obviously the season is not going the way we had hoped at the start of the year, but we still have an opportunity to achieve the goals we set out for. Bay 6 Conference play is starting and those are the games that decide playoffs. We have a great opportunity to compete in the top conference in CCCAA Football, and we need to maximize those opportunities."
Come join the Vikings football team for the last two home games against Laney College (Friday, 11/3, 7:00pm) and San Joaquin Delta College (Friday 11/10, 7:00pm), both are sure to bring excitement to round out conference play.
