DVC Softball gets the win over Ohlone College
Diablo Valley College beat Ohlone College 6-1 on Thursday. The Vikings opened up scoring in the second inning. DVC scored one run when Madeline Cervantes singled.
The Vikings notched three runs in the fifth inning. The Viking's offense in the inning came from a single by Elvia Alvarado and a home run by Julianna Pichardo. Sita Manoa earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for DVC, pitching all seven innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out five.
Holly Gonzalez took the loss for Ohlone College. She went four and a third innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking one.
Diablo Valley College had 11 hits in the game. Alvarado, Mariah Schuchart, Cervantes, Nikki Mason, and Pichardo each collected multiple hits for the DVC Vikings. Pichardo, Mason, Cervantes, Schuchart, and Alvarado all had two hits to lead the Vikings.
DVC didn't commit a single error in the field. Alvarado had the most chances in the field with five. Lauryn Garcia went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Ohlone in hits. Ohlone was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Desiree Herrera made the most plays with five.
