TEN QUESTIONS WITH SITA MANOA
- Who/What got you interested in your sport and when did you start playing? I was 7 years old when my dad put my sisters and I in softball. I didn’t even know the sport, but I knew where I wanted to play after my first game in right field. I wanted an in-field spot, specifically the pitcher. So during the games I would be in the outfield motioning a pitch and all you could hear were the parents in the stands saying “Sita! Focus!” Since then, I’ve been hooked to softball.
- If you weren't playing your sport, what other sport would you want to play at the college level? I played volleyball and basketball, but I don’t think I would want to go further with those spots like I am with softball.
- What makes your coaches the type of coaches you love to play for? I am truly and forever grateful for my DVC coaches. I took a year off of softball and really had no confidence in my game. But playing for them made me feel invincible. They boosted my confidence and taught me so much more which made my game so much easier.
