
Cross Country Shines with Strong Performances at Big 8 Conference XC Championship
At the Big 8 Conference Cross Country Championship held at Hidden Valley Parks in Pleasant Hill, Diablo Valley College delivered a commendable performance. In the Men's 4.03-mile race, Diablo Valley secured third place with a total time of 2:01:24, an average time of 24:16, and a score of 83 points. Key performances included Alan Solari's impressive first-place finish, clocking a time of 22:23.3 and an average mile pace of 5:33.4. Other notable finishes for Diablo Valley were Paolo Morales in ninth place with a time of 23:04.9, Waylon Crombie in 17th place with a time of 23:35.3, and Andrew Shargel finishing 22nd at 24:17.7. Joey Anderson rounded out Diablo Valley's scoring team in 40th place with a time of 28:03.6.
In the Women's 3-mile race, Diablo Valley also made a strong showing, finishing second overall with a total time of 1:42:26 and an average time of 20:29. Standout performances included Alana Sevier, who placed second with a time of 19:23.4 and an average mile of 6:27.8. Other contributing scorers for Diablo Valley were Victoria Fung in 10th place (20:25.0), Elena Mendez in 12th (20:39.7), Elise Gramond in 14th (20:42.7), and Alexia Hisquierdo in 16th place (21:15.9).
