
De Trane departs for Cal Maritime, Dolley named Interim Head Coach for Men’s Water Polo
Diablo Valley College Dean & Director of Athletics, Christine Worsley, announced Corey Dolley, as its new Interim Head Men’s Water Polo Coach, following the resignation of Matt De Trane.
De Trane was hired at Cal Maritime in July, as the Associate AD for Aquatics and the Head Men’s & Women’s Water Polo coach. "Matt will truly be missed, as he was an integral part of our department program over the past few years," said Dean Worsley. "All of us here at Diablo Valley College are very thankful for his time in our department and we wish him well in the next chapter of his professional career." Corey Dolley has been coaching Water Polo and Swim for the past 30 years. He has coached at the club level, high school level (De La Salle, San Ramon Valley, El Dorado, and Marina) as well as internationally in Spain and Australia. Dolley also spent time coaching USA water polo’s Olympic Developemnt Program, as well as their senior team.
Dolley attended Long Beach state and earned a BA in economics and a teaching credential from National university. He plans on being an intense international style of defense with a constant counter attack that will be very fun to play and watch. “I trust in hard work, accountability and humility as a foundation for success now and after college. We have a new pool and a new hunger to achieve greatness.”
Our Men’s Water Polo team will begin their season on Sept. 1st and 2nd, competing in the Cuesta Tournament.
