Men's Basketball Conference Awards Announced
DVC Vikings Men's Basketball team finished the 2019-2020 season in 4th place in the Big 8 Conference (11-5, 19-11 overall). The Vikings lost to Fresno City College in the 2nd round of the CCCAA Northern California Regional Playoffs. It was their first trip to the CCCAA State playoffs since 2017. 5 Vikings were named to the Big 8 Conference teams:
Isaih Hood – 1st Team All-Big 8 Conference - Averaged 17.9 points per game (2nd in Big 8), he shot 50.1% from the field and 43.2% from behind the arch (3rd in Big 8). Hood averaged 8.9 rebounds per game (3rd in Big 8), 3 assists, & 1.3 steals per game.
Raoul Harley - 1st Team All-Big 8 Conference - Averaged 10.2 points per game, he shot 44.5% from the floor, and 36.1% from behind the arch. Harley averaged 7.7 rebounds per game (4th in Big 8) and 1.4 assists per game.
Darius Jackson - Big 8 Conference Honorable Mention & All-Academic Team - Jackson averaged 11.7 points per game, 3.9 assists per game (6th in Big 8) and shot 39.4% from the floor. He also averaged 3.9 Rebounds per game.
Mitchell Smith - Big 8 Conference Honorable Mention & All-Academic Team - Smith averaged 12.9 points per game and shot 37.7% from the floor. Smith also shot 32.7% from behind the arch and 81% from the free throw line.
