
Four Men's Basketball players commit to play at next level
2018 Men's Basketball Players commit to play at next level:
Ben Wood has committed to play next year at Cal State East Bay. Wood was named to the Big 8 Conference 1st Team and was also named the 2018 MVP for the Vikings. Wood, the 6'4" Freshman from Walnut Creek, started all 27 games for the Vikings this season. He was the leading scorer and rebounder for the Vikes, averaging 13.5 points per game overall and 7.3 rebounds per game. Wood scored a season high 26 points in the first Big 8 Conference game vs. Santa Rosa on December 20th, going 9-19 from the floor with 2 threes'.
Steven Daily also committed to Cal State East Bay. Daily, who started 14/15 games he played finished the 2018 on the sidelines due to injury. He shot 38.5% from beyond the arc and finished averaging 5.5 rebounds per game, as well as 8.7 PPG.
Victor Mijas has committed to play next year at Humboldt State. He was named to the Big 8 Conference Honorable Mention team. Mijas, the 6'4" Sophomore from Sao Paulo, Brazil, started 26 of the 27 games he played in this season. Mijas averaged 12.1 PPG this season with his season high 22 points on February 2nd vs. Folsom Lake College, going 8-16 from the floor and 4-10 behind the arc.
John Dong also signed with Humboldt State. Dong received the DVC Coaches Award for the 2017-18 season. During the 2017-2018 season, Dong started 22/27 games this season and averaged 48.5% from the field. Dong played a key role in executing the Vikings offense this season.
