
DVC defeats Siskiyous, 31-3
The College of the Siskiyous football team opened the season at home Saturday vs. No. 25 ranked Diablo Valley. COS lost the contest 31-3. DVC kicked off the 2021 football season in Weed, CA on Saturday, when they took on Siskiyous.
The Vikings began the game with a 74-yard drive, resulting in a 22 yard-TD pass to John Giagiari from Dylan Graham.
DVC scored again in the 1st quarter with a 70-yard drive that ended with a 29-yard pass from Joey Aguilar to John Giagiari for his 2nd TD of the game.
DVC would end the 1st half with a 84 yard drive, resulting in a 23-yard field goal from Gavin Cribb.
DVC led the Eagles 17-0 at the half. The Vikings would score twice in the 3rd quarter.
The Vikings led off the 2nd half with a 6-play, 90-yard drive that ended in a Gavin Cribb 5-yard touchdown run.
The Vikings second score in the 3rd came on a Joey Aguilar 17-yard TD pass to Tanner Hartwig to make the score 31-3 at the end of the 3rd quarter.
Siskiyous finally got on the board when the Vikings defense held the Eagles to a 32-yard field goal with 11:49 left in the game.
The final score was 31-3.
The Vikings offense finished with a total of 535 yards. Joey Aguilar finished 11-16, 225 yards, and 2 TD's.
John Giagiari finished with 2-receiving TD's on the day. Gavin Cribb led the Vikings in rushing yards with 76 and 1 TD.
DVC's defense held Siskuyous to 129 total offensive yards on the day.
The Vikings will host West Hills on Friday at Diablo Valley College on Friday, Sept. 10th at 6:00pm.
