The Diablo Valley College baseball team was well-represented in the 2024-25 Big 8 Conference postseason awards, with three standout sophomores earning Second Team All-Conference honors: Elijah Scott (Infield), Zac Ragland (Outfield), and Zac Goldenberg (Utility).
Elijah Scott, a steady presence at shortstop, turned in an impressive sophomore campaign that showcased his plate discipline and contact ability. Appearing in 37 games, Scott hit .308 with a team-leading .444 on-base percentage, drawing 19 walks while striking out just 18 times. His reliability in the field and ability to consistently reach base made him a cornerstone of the Viking lineup.
Zac Ragland was a spark plug in the outfield and one of the team's most productive hitters. Playing in all 39 games, Ragland led the Vikings in hits (48) and runs scored (26) while batting .329. His .441 OBP and .418 slugging percentage reflected his ability to both get on base and drive the ball with authority. His consistency at the plate and in the field earned him well-deserved recognition among the conference's top outfielders.
Zac Goldenberg provided versatility and leadership as a key utility player, splitting time behind the plate and in the infield. Goldenberg hit .305 over 37 games, driving in 18 runs and finishing second on the team in slugging percentage at .415. His defensive flexibility and ability to contribute in multiple roles made him invaluable to the Vikings' success.
Together, these three sophomores played pivotal roles in a competitive season for Diablo Valley, setting the tone for both effort and execution. Their recognition by the Big 8 Conference is a testament to their hard work, talent, and impact on the field.
