Baseball drops 2 to Marin and 1 to Cabrillo to start the 2024 season

Game 1 vs. Marin 1/26

The game started off with a solid hit from B. Nazario, setting the tone with a run on the board.

In the 5th inning, C. Delangis stepped up to bat, delivering a single that drove in L. Schaefer, extending Marin's lead to two runs.

In the 6th inning, M. Bellisimo singled, bringing home W. Davis and widening the gap to 3-0.

A groundout from C. Delangis added another run.

In the 9th inning M. Mendoza's single brought D. Bartram home, securing the 5-0 W for Marin. 

Game 2 vs. Cabrillo 1/27

DVC scored first, when J. FOLEY hit a single down the left field line, driving in J. RUSCA for the first run, putting DVC ahead 1-0.

Cabrillo rallied in the 4th inning with N. Erickson's single up the middle, bringing in T. Ross and O. Knapp, giving Cabrillo a 2-1 lead.

In the 6th inning, Cabrillo extended their lead as T. Ross hit a sacrifice fly to center field, allowing O. Knapp to score, making it 3-1 in favor of Cabrillo.

Cabrillo continued their offensive push in the 8th inning. N. Erickson drew a walk, bringing in M. Morrison, followed by walks from N. Hilger, S. Shiratori, and N. Brusca, each resulting in a run scored.

This gave Cabrillo a commanding 7-1 lead, sealing their victory over the Vikings.

Game 3 vs. Marin 1/30

In a high-scoring affair between Diablo Valley and Marin, Diablo Valley surged ahead in the 1st inning with J. RUSCA's RBI single, followed by J. FOLEY's RBI double and J. COURTNEY's RBI single, giving them an early 3-0 lead.

Marin quickly answered back in the bottom of the 1st inning, with M. Bellisimo, D. Bartram, C. Delangis, K. Kircher, D. Carson, B. Nazario, and W. Davis all contributing to a massive 9-run inning, putting them in the lead 9-3.

The onslaught continued in the 2nd inning as Marin added 7 more runs, highlighted by K. Kircher's homer and RBIs from D. Carson, B. Nazario, W. Davis, and M. Bellisimo, extending their lead to 16-3.

Marin kept the pressure on, adding 2 runs in the 3rd inning and another 6 runs in the 5th inning, with contributions from E. Zarco, W. Davis, and M. McHale, bringing the score to 25-3.

Despite Diablo Valley's efforts, including D. NAPOLI's 6th-inning RBI single, Marin's D. Foster sealed the game with a 3-run double in the bottom of the 6th, securing Marin's dominant 25-5 victory.
