DVC Athletics Update Week of 9/19- 9/23
Women’s Soccer continued Big 8 Conference play Tuesday with a 4-1 loss vs. Santa Rosa Junior College. The Vikings then headed to the State Capital on Friday where they lost to American River College with a score of 3-2. DVC Women’s Soccer is back in Sacramento on tomorrow to play Sac City under the lights at 6pm and head to Folsom Lake College on Friday to take on the Falcons at 4:00pm.
Women’s Water Polo competed in the Cabrillo College Tournament in Aptos this weekend. The Vikings went 1-3 in the tournament with a win over Merced and losses to Cabrillo, Cuesta and Santa Rosa. The Vikings head to Sierra College Wednesday to take on the Wolverines in a Big 8 match up at 5pm.
Men’s Water Polo defeated Modesto Junior College Wednesday by a score of 11-9. The Vikings are headed to Sierra College to take on the Wolverines at 3:30pm on Wednesday and head to Mission Viejo on Thursday to compete in the Saddleback College Tournament this weekend.
Women’s Volleyball continued Big 8 Conference play with a loss to Sierra College, 25-18, 25-22, & 25-15. The Vikings fell to Santa Rosa Junior College on Friday, 28-26, 25-19, 25-11. DVC Volleyball is headed to Delta on Wednesday to take on the Mustangs at 6:30pm and are HOME this FRIDAY, September 29th when they host American River College at 6:30pm.
Men’s & Women’s Cross Country competed in the Lou Vasquez Invitational at Golden Gate Park Polo Fields on Friday. The Men’s XC team finished 3rd overall in the meet with three top 25 finishes, 5th Kevin Orellana, 14th Luis Ramirez, & 21st Jordan Bandtell. The Women had two top 35 finishes, 19th Jessica Mendez, 33rd Alyssa Clark. Both Cross Country teams will be headed to Modesto on Friday to race in the Modesto Junior College Invitational.
Football defeated Feather River College on Friday 33-14. The Vikings were up 21-14 at halftime and held Feather River College scoreless in the second half. DVC Football is headed to Delta this Saturday to take on the Mustangs at 1pm in Stockton.
