Women's Water Polo began their 2018 season with a 17-0 shut out win vs. Fresno City College, which would end up being the highlight of the weekend.
Haley Grimmer had all 6 goals of the first quarter for the Vikes.
In the second quarter, Bailey Reading took over for the Vikings, finishing the game with 6 goals as well. Hayley London, Kaelin Betschart, and Gabrielle Writh each finished with a goal and Harmony Soffer had two in the DVC win.
The Vikings continued south for the weekend to compete in the Cuesta College tournament.
The Vikings finished 0-4, competing with some of the best teams in the state.
On Saturday the Vikings finished 0-2 with an 11-4 loss to Ventura and an 8-3 loss to tournament host, Cuesta College. Day two the Vikings lost a heart breaker to Cerritos 11-9 and another close one to West Valley College, 8-4.
The Vikings begin Big 8 Conference play on Wednesday with a road trip to Santa Rosa Junior College to take on the Bear Cubs at 3:30PM.
