Women's Basketball ends season with 3C2A playoff loss to Hartnell

The DVC women’s basketball team recorded 15-14 in 2023-24 season with only nine players on the roster. They punched their ticket to the 3C2A NorCal Regionals as the seventeenth seed. Despite falling short to Hartnell College in the first round of regional play, they still had a breakout season with an outstanding 10-3 start.

Three sophomores represented DVC on the Big 8 All-Conference teams this year. Izzy De La Cruz, guard, was selected to the First Team. De La Cruz led the Big 8 in assists per game and assist-turnover ratio. With De La Cruz’s outstanding ball-handling skills, the Vikings committed the least turnovers in conference.

Skyler Parker and Lexie Lipary were selected to the Second Team. Parker, a forward, led the Vikings in points per game (14.1), field goal percentage (43.1) and rebounds (8.3) while Lipary, a shooting guard, was a solid contributor in multiple categories. Congratulations to the Lady Vikings on a successful season!
