Bio
Coach Collins is entering his second season at DVC after leading the Vikings to the 2024 Golden Valley Bowl Championship. From 2015-2023, coach Collins served as the head coach at City College of San Francisco where he was the 2015 and 2021 CCCAA All-American Coach of the Year. Coach Collins’ teams have made the post-season each of his 9 seasons as head coach, including 10 postseason victories, two Northern California Championships, two State Championships, and two National Championships. During this time, over 230 of his players transferred to four-year colleges. Of those transfers, more than 150 continued their careers with Division 1 programs, and 175+ players have earned scholarships.
Coach Collins began his career coaching the quarterbacks at City College of San Francisco, a role he maintains with the Vikings. In his 15 seasons working with the quarterbacks, coach Collins has provided 17 Division 1 opportunities for quarterbacks and a total of 25 continued to play at the four-year level.
After playing quarterback for CCSF in 2005 and winning a Northern California Championship, coach Collins transferred to Portland State University, where he played quarterback for head coach Jerry Glanville and offensive coordinator Mouse Davis, the inventor of the run-and-shoot. At Portland State, he earned 2008 Big Sky Academic All-Conference honors and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. In 2011, coach Collins graduated with a Masters of Sports Science with an emphasis in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama.
A Bay Area native, coach Collins currently resides in Danville with his wife and two sons.
