Coach Nonies is joining the Diablo Valley College football staff after spending the last eight seasons at national power, De La Salle High School. Coach Nonies most recently served as the Spartans’ Defensive Backs Coach and Defensive Pass Game Coordinator. During his tenure, the Spartans won seven Open Division North Coast Section Championships, six Open Division Northern California Regional Championships, and made six State Championship appearances in both the Open and Division I games. In his time at De La Salle, Coach Nonies has developed 11 Division I defensive backs. His resume also includes a host of All-Region, All-State, and All-American players, including one Gatorade National Defensive Player of the Year. 

Coach Nonies also serves as the Director of Player Development and Linebackers/Nickels coach for the nationally recognized 7v7 organization, KT Prep Academy, which has developed 186 scholarship athletes (163 Division I), 18 All-Americans, and 13 alumni that have continued their journeys into the NFL. There have been 18 Linebackers and 49 Defensive Backs to have gone through KT Prep Academy and earn Division I scholarships. Their attention to detail in mental preparation and development of translatable technique have allowed their alumni to make immediate impact at the four-year level. Many have also earned All-Conference and All-American honors across the NCAA.  

Coach Nonies prides himself on developing young people of character, emphasizing characteristics such as accountability, responsibility, and integrity while maintaining a standard of academic and athletic excellence. While at De La Salle, Coach Nonies also developed their football program’s leadership council, which diligently works to put their leadership skills to use on the field and more importantly, in the community. He believes that development of the entire human allows his players to have an immediate impact at the next level and ultimately leads to success in their personal endeavors.
