The DVC Women’s Water Polo Team has seen a season full of great learning experiences. With a .200 winning percentage and a conference record of (1-1) through 10 games, the Vikings are looking to finish the season strong. In an interview with first-year Head Coach Trisha Quan, she explains what her expectations were going into this season for the team. “The expectations for this team are to improve. Improve both in the water and out of the water and as a coach, not just to develop athletes but develop humans.” These improvements were shown in the Vikings last home game, facing off against American River College. DVC was victorious by a score of 13-7 in the matchup against the visiting Beavers. The Vikings had 13 goals on 18 shot attempts led by Freshman Sofia Goodson with 5 goals and Freshman Alyssia “Lele” Byrd with 3 assists. A special shoutout to the DVC sophomores Serenity Rios and Sophia Teicher as this is their last season with the Vikings. Rios finished the game against American River College with an assist and Teicher had a goal and assist.
DVC’s women’s water polo team, led by Coach Trisha Quan, looks to find success against Modesto Junior College on Wednesday, October 25th. The Vikings are heading into this matchup with a record of (2-8) and are looking to improve 3 wins against the Pirates who have a record of (4-9) so far this season. DVC won its last matchup with Modesto Junior College on October 19th, 2022, by a score of 17-10.
