Bio

Sam ‘Lubey’ Liubicich, an alumni of the team, returns to the DVC Women’s Soccer Program as an Assistant Coach. She was a goalkeeper for Head Coach Mullins from 2010-2012 before going on to play at Holy Names University in Oakland. After her time with HNU, she continued her soccer journey as a keeper with the San Francisco Nighthawks. Three successful knee surgeries later, she still loves to play and can be found competing at COPA in Walnut Creek or in the Pleasant Hill Rec league. When she is not on the pitch, Lubey stays active in the world of fitness. She is the Studio Manager of Orangetheory Fitness in Pleasant Hill and is proud to deliver fitness results to over 700 members in the community. Along with managing the studio, she is also an Orangetheory Fitness Certified Coach. With much gratitude for DVC’s top-notch experience, she looks forward to giving back to the program with a continued focus on developing today’s players into next level athletes and quality human beings.

“Sam will bring tremendous energy to the coaching staff and team as a whole. She will also be a great resource to our student-athletes having been in their shoes, both at DVC and the 4-year level. Sam was an outstanding leader as a player, and I am so happy to have her back with us in a coaching role!” -Coach Mullins
