Bio

Lee Ward began his swimming journey at the age of 5 in Concord, CA, starting out in summer rec programs. At 10, he transitioned to a year-round team, SwimMAC, in North Carolina, his home state. Throughout high school, he honed his skills at SwimMAC before relocating to CA in 2011 to join the local team, Walnut Creek Aquabears. Alongside swimming competitively, he began coaching both the year-round team and Northgate High School. His swimming career continued at DVC in 2012 and 2013, setting a new team record in the 500 Free and clinching the Big 8 Conference record in the 200 Free, a record still unbroken. He then competed in Division I at the University of Pacific, graduating with a Bachelor's in Sociology. Post-graduation, he remained deeply involved in swimming, coaching with the Walnut Creek Aquabears and the DVC swim team under Rick Millington, while also coaching College Park High School. Amidst this busy schedule, he pursued and completed a Master's degree in Kinesiology at Saint Mary's College of California in Moraga. Presently, he continues his coaching journey with the Walnut Creek Aquabears, Walnut Creek Masters, and DVC, all while actively participating in swimming with Walnut Creek Masters. Beyond the pool, he dedicates time to developing new training programs, engaging in computer work including gaming, and the occasional anime binge.
