The Diablo Valley College women's soccer team (8-5-7) received the No. 12 seed for the NorCal Regional playoffs and will travel to No. 5 City College of San Francisco (14-2-3) on Saturday in the first round.
The winner will face either No. 4 Modesto or No. 13 Las Positas in the second round.
Unbeaten Santa Rosa (17-0-4), the No. 1 seed and the champion of the Big 8 Conference, received a bye in the first round. The Vikings had two solid showings against Santa Rosa, losing 1-0 and tying 0-0.
San Francisco was the runaway winner of the Coast-North. DVC is led on offense by Julia Curran, who had two goals and an assist in a 3-3 draw with Big 8 runner-up Modesto last week. Curran has eight goals and five assists overall.
Goalkeeper Katie McLaughlin is ranked No. 2 in the state in both goals-against average at 0.30 and saves percentage at .927.
For CCSF, which has won 9 of its last 10 games, Jesse Bareilles leads the way with 18 goals. The Rams had a 1-0-1 record against Las Positas, a team the Vikings played to a 1-1 draw.
