All five starters for Diablo Valley score in double-digits as they beat the Merritt Thunderbirds, 85-74. Soraya Page led the way, stuffing the stat sheet with 19 points and 13 rebounds, notching her 4th double-double on the season. Page also displayed defensive prowess with 3 blocks and 3 steals. Kayla Taylor had another outstanding game on the boards, picking up 15 rebounds to go along with her 15 points. Tailya Jackson added 14 points. Jophiea Irvin and Sabrea Coleman both had 12 points a piece.
The Vikings are currently on a three game winning streak, effectively shaking off an early three game losing streak to start the season. The victory over Merritt puts the Vikings one win away from winning the 21st annual Costa Classic. They will face Fresno City College in the finals, Sunday at 2 PM.
