DVC Vikings Clinches Lead in Seventh Inning To Defeat Sacramento City
DVC Vikings defeated Sacramento City 5-4 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. The Vikings' Julianna Pichardo hit a 3 run homer to tie the game at four. Later in the inning, Madeline Cervantes put a ball in play up the middle and allowed Hannah Kwong to score the winning run.
DVC Vikings earned the victory despite allowing Sacramento City to score three runs in the fourth inning. Sacramento City offense in the inning was led by Elizabeth Caffero and Taylor Wolf, who each had RBIs in the inning.
DVC Vikings got things moving in the first inning. DVC Vikings scored one run when Nikki Mason singled.
Sita Manoa earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for DVC Vikings. She surrendered four runs on ten hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking one.
