Nicole Nordahl tossed a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and the DVC softball team upset Sierra 1-0 in the Big 8 on Tuesday.
The Vikings (23-8-1, 7-6) got the only run they would need on a Juliana Deighton RBI single in the third inning.
Kaitlyn VanMotman was 3 for 3.
Sierra (23-9, 8-5) entered the game ranked tied for ninth in the state and fifth in Northern California, four spots higher than the Vikings.
DVC also beat Sierra 1-0 on March 19. Nordahl is No. 3 in the state in wins with 23 and No. 1 in strikeouts with 220.
