The DVC Vikings baseball team defeated the College of San Mateo Bulldogs on Saturday, 5-4 in extra innings. The Vikings were led offensively by Khalid Johnson, going 2-6 with 2 RBI's.
Michael Theisen also had a great day a the plate, going 2-4 with 1 RBI and 1 walk.
The Vikings were down 4-1 heading into the bottom of the 8th and they put up 3 runs to tie the game going into the 9th.
In the bottom of the 10th inning, Michael Theisen singled to left field, RBI; Khalid Johnson advanced to third; and Christiaan Herkemij scored to win the game.
On the hill for the Vikings, it was a group effort; Mike Manley threw 5 innings, Justin Tamelier threw the next 3, Brandon Kinsey threw to 1 batter, Nick Krauth threw to 4 batters and Nick Simmons finished the last 4 batters.
The Vikings take on Ohlone College in Fremont today at 2:00pm.
