Leo Biedermann | 1973 Football, DVC Tackle who transferred and played his last three years for the Bears at UC-Berkeley. Drafted by the Cleve- land Browns in 1978 (played in all 16 games in 1978 for first- year coach Sam Rutigliano); Had brief stints with the Eagles, 49ers, Canadian Football League & the Oakland Invaders. Ac- tive with “Athletes for Youth Foundation”, which was founded in 1986.
Bob Borghesani | 1953-1955 First Team All-Conference in three sports; Football, Basketball & Baseball. In high school, he pitched both right and left-handed. In 1954, he batted .400 at DVC. 7-3 as a left-handed pitcher. Selected to DVC’s All-Half Century Baseball Team. Transferred to San Jose State.
Tiffany Edwards-Panfili | 1991-1992, Track & Field and Softball. 1991 ALL-Conference Shortstop, led DVC in Home Runs. 1991 Track & Field, won State Championship in the Javelin. 1992 Track & Field, won State Championship in the Heptathlon, helping DVC to Golden Gate Conference and Nor-Cal titles. Javelin mark of 162’ 2” was an Olympic Qualifying Standard. Transferred on scholarship to UC-Berkeley. All-American Sen- ior Year at CAL in the Heptathlon. Asst. Track Coach at DVC from 1996-1998.
Jim Flores | 1976-1977 Baseball, ALL-Golden Gate Con- ference infielder both years. Hit most dra- matic home run in history of California Community College. In 1977, hit Game- Winning Grand Slam with 2 outs in the 9th inning of State Championship game, giv- ing DVC an 11-10 victory! Transferred to Fresno State and played professionally in minor leagues for three seasons. Selected to DVC’s All-Half Century Baseball Team.
Tim Foote | 1988-1989 Baseball, ALL-Golden Gate Conference both years, Shortstop. 1989 Golden Gate Conference Player of the Year on DVC’s Conference Championship team. Only player in school history to hit over .400 both years in conference play, .404 (1988) and .422 (1989). Transferred to Lewis & Clark College. Selected to DVC’s All-Half Century Baseball Team.
Bob Green | 1972-1974 Wrestling, 29-12-1 in the 190 lb. division during his Freshman Year. Placed 2nd in Nor Cal. Sophomore year won Nor Cal and State Champion- ship in Heavyweight Division. Voted Junior College All-American with a 42-2-1 record, 22 wins by pin! Transferred and graduated from Colorado State Uni- versity on a full scholarship.
Broderick Perkins | 1973-1974 Baseball, ALL-Golden Gate Conference selection his Sophomore Year while earning his AA degree at DVC. Transferred to St. Mary’s College 1975-1976. Drafted by the San Diego Padres in 1976. Played for Padres 1978-1982 and Cleveland Indians 1983-1984. In 1980 he hit .370 in 100 AB’s, .280 in 1981 with 254 AB’s (40 RBI’s). Had a .271 batting average through seven major league seasons. Selected to DVC’s All-Half Century Baseball Team.
Liz Scheetz-Seymour | 1987-1988 Swimming, won three individual State Events both years and earned All-American honors in six events and three relays. Named 1988 State Female Swimmer of the Year. Set state and na- tional record for 50 Breaststroke. Transferred to Cal Poly-SLO.
